Green Haus Café, located at 1520 Tremont Street in Mission Hill, offers more than just coffee. The café’s plant-filled interior creates a refreshing and inviting atmosphere, attracting customers looking for both a caffeine boost and a touch of greenery. Co-owner Phineas Phan said that while the coffee and specialty drinks draw people in, the plants keep them coming back, especially during the winter months.
“I don’t know, man. Everyone needs a plant in their life every now and then,” said Phan. “It kind of reminds us of home a bit.”
The Phan family, originally from Vietnam, brings their rich coffee tradition to the café. Phan explained that while Bostonians have a strong coffee culture, the quality of coffee often falls short. Green Haus Café’s Vietnamese coffee, however, adds cultural depth to the local coffee scene.
While coffee is the café’s main focus, it’s not the only draw. Many customers leave with plants, as Phan shared, “We pretty much sell anything in here.” The combination of coffee and plants makes for a unique experience that keeps customers coming back for more.
