Wawa is celebrating its 61st anniversary in a big way. On April 16, 2025, the popular convenience store chain will give away free hot coffee of any size at all of its locations across the U.S.
As part of its annual Wawa Day celebration, the company expects to hand out about 1.5 million cups of coffee. The event not only marks more than six decades of service but also highlights Wawa’s recent expansion into Ohio.
Wawa opened its first store in 1964 in Folsom, Pennsylvania. Today, the chain operates more than 1,100 locations across states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Washington D.C., and now, Ohio.
The tradition of free coffee on Wawa Day has become a customer favorite — a way to thank loyal fans while celebrating the brand’s continued growth.
