Toby’s flagship café and roastery has been named The World’s Best Coffee Shop at the inaugural The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops Gala in Madrid, Spain.
The event introduced a new global recognition system, where coffee shops were judged based on factors such as coffee quality, barista experience, customer service, innovation, ambiance, sustainability practices, food and pastry quality, and consistency. Toby’s Estate, renowned Australian specialty coffee roasters, emerged as the top winner.
Other Australian cafes also earned high honors, with Proud Mary in Melbourne ranking 4th and Coffee Anthology in Brisbane coming in 8th. In total, nine Australian coffee shops made the top 100 list.
Jody Leslie, general manager for Toby’s Estate, expressed excitement about the accolade: “At Toby’s Estate, coffee is at the heart of everything we do, and I think that’s reflected in our customer’s experience. Our whole team puts in an immense amount of effort to make the best coffee possible, so we’re absolutely delighted to be awarded this incredible recognition.”
