Blue Collar Coffee Co. encourages customers all year long to brighten someone’s day through its “Pay It Forward” program. This initiative allows people to buy a gift for a friend, family member, first responder, or anyone in need.
“Our goal is to be the most compassionate coffee shop we can,” said Ande Herbrand, the general manager.
On Monday, April 28, the coffee shop made “Pay It Forward” even more special by celebrating “Pay It Forward Day.” Customers who visited on Monday could share kindness with a special offer: 50% off a second purchase when using the shop’s app.
One of the happy customers that day was Jana Ahmed, a regular at Blue Collar Coffee in Beloit. She received a free coffee as part of the celebration.
“I feel very honored,” Ahmed said. “I’m very glad they did that for me, and I feel very blessed.”
Ahmed enjoys giving back as well. “I love buying people’s drinks and just making someone’s day,” she said. “You never know what someone is going through. I think we need more ways to brighten up someone’s smile and their day overall.”
She added that efforts like this help strengthen the local community.
“This is a great way to promote a sense of community,” Ahmed said. “Even if you feel like you don’t have anyone, there are always people here ready to help.”
Herbrand emphasized that kindness and compassion are not just part of their business—they are part of the spirit of the Beloit community too.
