In a significant milestone for Odisha’s coffee industry, Koraput Coffee secured two Fine Cup awards and placed 4th in the prestigious Flavour of India – The Final Cup Award 2024. The awards were announced at the India International Coffee Festival 2025, held in Bangalore on April 26-27.
This recognition comes under the Coffee Board of India’s national-level initiative, the KYK (Know Your Kappi) Drive 2024, which identifies and promotes India’s finest coffees. Koraput Coffee’s Arabica Washed and Arabica Natural varieties both received Fine Cup awards, highlighting their superior taste, aroma, and overall quality.
This marks the first time coffee from Odisha has received such dual recognition at a national competition, placing Koraput among the top four coffee-producing regions in India.
The success is largely attributed to the efforts of the Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (TDCCOL), which oversees the entire coffee process, from harvesting ripe cherries from tribal farmers to post-harvest processing and marketing. This model not only ensures quality control but also ensures fair value for indigenous farmers, many of whom are first-generation coffee growers.
During the festival, TDCCOL also received a Certificate of Appreciation for its role in promoting tribal-grown coffee from Odisha on a national platform.
The Fine Cup award is one of the highest recognitions in India’s coffee industry, celebrating not just the taste but also the integrity and traceability of the coffee’s origin. With this achievement, Koraput Coffee is rapidly gaining recognition as one of India’s emerging specialty coffee brands, known for its quality and social impact.
