This spring, Pass the Past Coffee officially opened its doors at 4740 McPherson Ave. in the Central West End, bringing a delightful combination of locally sourced drinks, baked goods, and vintage finds to the neighborhood. The opening marks a significant comeback for husband-and-wife duo Eugene and Erica Tsimerman, who are rebuilding after a devastating fire in 2022 forced them to close their previous venture, the vintage boutique Pass the Past.
“We’ve come a long way since the fire three years ago,” said Erica Tsimerman. “Reopening took a lot of research, planning, and preparation, and we’re grateful for the tremendous support from the neighborhood.”
The new concept beautifully blends the couple’s love for vintage retail and coffee, offering a unique experience for visitors. The House Blend No. 1, a smooth and balanced mix of Colombia and Ethiopia beans, is a standout offering. With rich chocolate and cherry notes, the blend was developed over the course of a year in collaboration with First Crack, a local roaster renowned for its Scandinavian-inspired light roasting style.
Pass the Past Coffee brings both a warm community vibe and expertly crafted coffee to the heart of the Central West End, signaling a bright future for the Tsimermans’ business.
