Later this year, Luckin Coffee, a prominent Chinese coffee chain that competes with Starbucks, will open its first U.S. location. The new store will be situated at 755 Broadway, near East Eighth Street, in the East Village of New York City.
Luckin Coffee has made a significant mark in the global coffee industry, surpassing Starbucks in China with over 24,000 locations. The company has also expanded into Malaysia and Singapore. Now, it’s setting its sights on the U.S. market with an innovative, technology-driven approach to coffee retail.
The East Village store will feature a 100% cashier-less environment, aiming to streamline the ordering process for pickup, delivery, and dine-in orders. This system reflects Luckin Coffee’s focus on convenience and efficiency. The location will take over the space previously occupied by Sunglass Hut.
Luckin Coffee’s menu includes a range of unique offerings, such as lattes with thick Hokkaido milk and Americanos with fizzy apple flavor. This new entry into the New York market will introduce U.S. customers to Luckin’s innovative blend of technology and coffee, aiming to differentiate itself from traditional coffee chains like Starbucks.
