Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. has officially opened its first Ontario location in Streetsville, bringing rich Yemeni coffee traditions to a newly restored heritage building.
The café, which had a soft opening in April, is located at 271 Queen Street South. It marks the U.S.-based chain’s first Canadian location outside of Michigan, Texas, and Illinois.
The building, long vacant and in poor condition, underwent extensive restoration over the past year. Originally built in 1875 as an Odd Fellows’ Hall, it later became a glass and paint store. The site was officially designated a heritage property in 1983. Today, the renovated space features high ceilings, bright modern interiors, and an open, welcoming atmosphere.
Qamaria was founded by Yemeni entrepreneurs Hatem and Munif. The brand is known for using conflict-free coffee beans sourced directly from Yemen. Its drinks are made using traditional Yemeni kettles, offering a cultural experience alongside every cup.
The menu features a mix of espresso-based drinks, traditional Adeni chai (Yemeni tea), and creative coffee beverages like the pistachio latte. The café also serves a variety of pastries, including milk cakes, honeycomb bread, and Dubai-style croissants.
Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. continues to grow by introducing customers to Yemen’s centuries-old coffee culture in a modern setting.
