A new coffee shop has taken over a beloved Kansas City space. Chambre Coffee opened Saturday at 4010 Pennsylvania Ave., the former home of Westport Coffeehouse, which operated at the location for nearly 30 years.
The new café is owned by 24-year-old Paola Campos, who has long dreamed of running her own coffee shop. Originally from Puebla, Mexico, Campos has lived in the Kansas City area for five years.
“I really like to make coffee and try to make new drinks—and all the pastries,” she told The Star on Monday, speaking from inside her new shop.
Before opening Chambre Coffee, Campos ran a coffee truck for two years, serving espresso drinks at events across the metro. Now, with her first brick-and-mortar location, she’s offering an expanded menu that includes espresso drinks, matcha, tiramisu cheesecake, and more.
Campos credits her parents for helping her turn her dream into reality. “They’re really proud of me,” she said. “They’ve been a big help.”
Chambre Coffee is the newest chapter for a space with deep roots in the local coffee scene—and a fresh beginning for a young entrepreneur making her mark.
