The 2025 Specialty Coffee Expo brought together coffee professionals from around the world for a lively weekend of innovation, culture, and connection. Held from April 25 to 27 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, the event showcased the fast-growing and ever-changing world of specialty coffee.
Organized by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), this year’s expo welcomed over 17,000 attendees from 85 countries. From high-tech roasting machines to eco-friendly packaging and single-serve innovations, the expo highlighted the global coffee industry‘s creativity and commitment to progress.
More than 600 exhibitors filled the massive venue, offering a chance to explore new equipment, brewing tools, and sustainable solutions. Visitors also joined educational sessions covering topics such as cold brew flavor profiles, cultural approaches to cupping, and ways to improve café workflow.
A popular feature, the Cupping Exchange, returned this year, letting attendees taste a wide variety of coffees from around the globe. One of the biggest draws was the World Coffee Roasting Championships, where top roasters from different countries competed, showing off their skills and precision.
The event also celebrated the artistic side of coffee. The Best New Product and Coffee Design Awards honored outstanding achievements in equipment, branding, and design, proving that coffee is as much about experience as it is about flavor.
Overall, the 2025 Specialty Coffee Expo confirmed that the specialty coffee community continues to grow stronger, more connected, and more creative than ever.
