H Proper Coffee Roasters is welcoming 2021 World Brewers Cup champion Matt Winton to the Philippines for four days of coffee workshops and tasting sessions.
Winton is a well-known figure in the coffee world. Many home brewers got their start using his popular five-pour V60 recipe on YouTube. He represented Switzerland when he won the World Brewers Cup in 2021. After his victory, he launched Rose Coffee Roasters, his own coffee brand based in Zurich.
Harley Keith Yu, the founder of H Proper Coffee Roasters, met Winton during a coffee sourcing trip in Ethiopia. While tasting and selecting beans for their respective businesses, Yu invited Winton to visit the Philippines to share his coffee knowledge and inspire local coffee lovers.
Winton will be joined by Sierra Yeo, the 2022 UK Brewers Cup champion. The two champions will host café takeovers, hands-on brewing workshops, and intimate one-hour cupping sessions. Events will take place at H Proper’s locations in Cagayan de Oro and Ayala Triangle.
