An Italian-style coffee chain is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth. Qargo Coffee, originally launched in Florida, plans to open three new locations across the DFW area in summer 2025.
The brand was founded in Miami by Sam Shenouda and Bernadette Bastorous, with Mark Bastorous as development manager. Their first store, a kiosk in Tampa’s International Plaza, opened in 2022. Since then, Qargo has expanded to over a dozen locations in Florida, California, Michigan, Ohio, and Washington, D.C., along with one in Edinburg, Texas.
Qargo Coffee is known for its Italian-themed menu. It features coffee made in partnership with Lavazza, the famous Italian coffee roaster. Offerings include cold brew, boba tea, plant-based Lotus Energy drinks, seasonal specials, and even pet-friendly treats like sweet potato purée topped with whipped cream.
Customers can also enjoy all-day breakfast items, including breakfast and lunch sandwiches, pastries, tiramisu, chocolate ganache cheesecake, French macarons, and mini Dutch pancakes with chocolate syrup and whipped cream.
Each Qargo location adds local flavor by offering regionally inspired drinks and foods.
Bringing the concept to DFW is franchisee Kushal Bastakoti, an art gallery owner with a decade of experience running cafes in Dallas and Fort Worth. He previously operated Feng Cha, a boba tea and specialty drink shop.
Qargo Coffee is also currently involved in a pending case with the Federal Trade Commission over a complaint regarding franchise disclosure rules.
Despite the legal matter, the company continues to grow, aiming to offer a modern, Italian-inspired café experience to coffee lovers in North Texas.
