A new café in downtown Redwood City is turning heads with its unique menu and vibrant atmosphere. At Con Azucar Café, customers can sip cappuccinos topped with an image of their own face—or dip an oversized concha into a massive cup of coffee.
Originally launched in San Jose, Con Azucar Café opened its first Peninsula location with a soft launch on May 23. Its official grand opening is scheduled for June 7. The café gained social media fame in 2023 thanks to its giant concha and coffee combo, designed to serve about 10 people. The oversized concha costs $35, while the enormous coffee is priced at $45.
“When you walk in here, you feel the atmosphere—the place looks amazing,” said Redwood City franchise owner Berenisse Cruz. “You feel the culture, and you feel at home.”
Open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Con Azucar Café serves a full menu all day. Offerings include avocado and Caprese toasts, BLT and club sandwiches, a three-cheese grilled cheese, and torta de jamón—a classic Mexican ham sandwich made with soft telera bread. Prices range from $9.50 to $15.
With its eye-catching drinks, bold flavors, and welcoming vibe, Con Azucar Café offers a one-of-a-kind coffeehouse experience right in the heart of Redwood City.
