Coffee House 26 in Welches is getting ready for its biggest event of the year — the 5th annual Mt. Hood Pride celebration on Friday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Owner Amber Ford, who is also a barista and community advocate, is proud to host the family-friendly event filled with music, art, local vendors, and lots of love.
Amber shared that Pride is personal to her because she has several family members who are LGBTQ+. “I want them to have a better future, and this is one way I can show my support,” she said.
The celebration will include a raffle with all proceeds going to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit that helps LGBTQ+ youth with mental health and suicide prevention. Amber is donating half of Coffee House 26’s sales on the day to this cause.
Nearby restaurant The Burro Loco is joining in by offering happy hour specials and collecting donations. Local businesses are invited to contribute raffle prizes like gift cards and baskets.
Entertainment will be provided by Rural Queer Open Mic, a group from Wallowa County known for sharing music, art, and healing energy in small towns. Attendees can enjoy acoustic performances, candle booths, chair massages, and even community karaoke.
This event promises a joyful, inclusive day where everyone can celebrate pride and support a meaningful cause.
