A new coffee spot devoted entirely to nitro brew is set to open in downtown Winston-Salem. Okay Coffee, founded by Matthew Allivato James alongside partners Carla James and Zachary Via, will take over the former Wandering Sun Mead Hall space at 505 N. Cherry St., just steps from the Benton Convention Center and Small Batch Coffee.
Originally a wholesale business supplying nitro brew coffee to local favorites like Camino Bakery and Chad’s Chai—as well as selling directly at Cobblestone Farmers Market—Okay Coffee is now making the leap into retail. “Doing Cobblestone for several months spurred the idea for a retail spot,” said James.
Unlike traditional coffee shops, Okay Coffee will center exclusively on nitro brew—a cold brewing process infused with nitrogen gas that creates a smooth, creamy texture and a less bitter taste, perfect for fans of bold, refreshing coffee experiences.
