Twelve baristas from across the globe — including Sebastián, a partner from Peru — will compete over three days to become the first-ever Starbucks Global Barista Champion.
The competition will test each participant’s coffee knowledge, technical skills, and passion for the craft. It will be held during the Starbucks Leadership Experience, a large-scale conference attended by more than 14,000 partners (employees) from the United States and Canada.
Baristas will go head-to-head in a variety of challenges designed to highlight their expertise and creativity in making and serving coffee. The event aims to celebrate Starbucks partners and shine a spotlight on their dedication and talent.
At the end of the competition, one barista will be named the first Global Barista Champion in Starbucks history.
