StoneX Specialty Coffee, a Seattle-based green coffee trader, has opened its first company-owned warehouse in the United States. Located in Riverside, Missouri, just northwest of downtown Kansas City, the new facility aims to bring high-quality green coffee and professional services to roasters across the central U.S.
Until now, StoneX coffees have been distributed through five partner warehouses in Washington, Oregon, California, New Jersey, and Texas. The Kansas City-area location marks the company’s first directly operated warehouse, signaling a new phase in its domestic expansion.
“We selected Kansas City due to its central location in the Midwest, which allows for improved accessibility and reduced transit times for roasters in the surrounding region,” said Jolene Zehnder, Director of Sales and Operations at StoneX Specialty Coffee. “Our goal is to support roasters regardless of their location, and this strategic placement helps us better serve that mission.”
The new warehouse, which officially opened last month, features a modern cupping lab, as well as roasting and packing equipment. The space is designed to host educational and certification programs, barista training, and other coffee-related events.
At the time of opening, the facility stocked hundreds of bags of specialty-grade green coffee, available for immediate purchase. The inventory includes beans from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Peru, and Vietnam.
StoneX Specialty Coffee is a division of the publicly traded StoneX Group (NASDAQ: SNEX). It was established after StoneX acquired Mercon Specialty — the U.S.-based specialty division of Dutch coffee trader Mercon Coffee Group — in 2024. The acquisition followed Mercon’s bankruptcy filing at the end of 2023.
The new StoneX Specialty warehouse is located at 4346 Belgium Blvd., Riverside, Missouri.
