Dutch Bros Coffee has officially moved its corporate headquarters from Portland, Oregon, to Tempe, Arizona, the company confirmed on June 11.
The move marks a major shift for the popular beverage chain, which was founded in Grants Pass, Oregon, in 1992. Though Dutch Bros previously planned to keep its headquarters in its home state, the company now says that consolidating operations in Arizona offers strategic advantages.
“Over the past several months, we have seen the functional and cultural benefits of having more of our field support roles in one place,” the company said in a statement. “Bringing more people together will allow us to better serve our customers and crews across the country.”
Last July, Dutch Bros announced it would move 40% of its corporate positions to the Phoenix area. It signed a lease for 136,426 square feet at Liberty Center at Rio Salado in Tempe, making it one of Arizona’s largest office leases in 2023. The new headquarters is located at 1910 West Rio Salado Parkway.
Before completing the transition, the company temporarily housed employees at a smaller office in The Quad business park at 6320 East Thomas Road in Scottsdale.
The total cost of the move to Arizona is estimated at $41 million, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
Dutch Bros went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 and has since continued expanding its presence across the U.S.
