Couple Opens New Coffee Shop Inspired by European Roots

For Michaela Krueger and Luka Pivk, their story began with a simple cup of coffee.

While vacationing in Croatia last summer, Krueger walked into a café and spotted Pivk working there. Months later, Pivk traveled to the United States to visit her, and from that moment, their relationship blossomed.

Now, about a year later, the couple is turning that shared love for European coffee into a new business venture.

This summer, Krueger and Pivk will open Dolce Caffè, a coffee shop in Olathe. The café plans a soft opening on July 1, followed by a grand opening celebration on July 15.
