Boundary Roasting Co. has joined forces with Agriculture Wellness Ontario to support the mental health of farmers and agricultural workers across the province. Ontarians can now help by enjoying a special new coffee called Grounds for Conversation.
Proceeds from every bag of this coffee sold will go directly to Agriculture Wellness Ontario programs until June 1, 2026. Boundary Roasting Co. will donate $1.50 from each 300-gram bag and $5 from every one-kilogram bag sold.
Grounds for Conversation is a single-origin, medium-roast coffee with flavors of toffee and milk chocolate. It is perfect for espresso or filter brewing. The coffee comes from a single farm in Nicaragua and is roasted near Listowel, Ontario, by farmer and roaster Arend Haverkamp. The importer, who grew up on a Nicaraguan coffee farm, is passionate about fair and transparent supply chains.
The company was founded by a farming couple who discovered a love for roasting specialty coffee and wanted to share it with their community. They farm near Listowel and have many family members and friends working in agriculture.
“We’ve seen firsthand how stressful farming can be,” said Arend Haverkamp, co-owner of Boundary Roasting Co. “We want to help improve the mental health of Ontarians in agriculture.”
Paige Haverkamp, co-owner, added, “Supporting Agriculture Wellness Ontario was an easy choice. Their programs focus on industry needs we care about deeply.”
Camille Quenneville, CEO of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Ontario Division, expressed honor that her organization was chosen as a beneficiary of this initiative.
Agriculture Wellness Ontario offers free programs to support the mental health and well-being of Ontario’s agricultural community. Managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division, these programs include the Farmer Wellness Initiative, Guardian Network, In the Know, Growth Workshops, and the International Agricultural Worker Wellness Program.
Grounds for Conversation coffee can be bought online or at any store selling Boundary Roasting Co. products.
