Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea recently sent several of its expert cuppers to Honduras for an immersive journey into coffee farming and community service, reinforcing the company’s deep commitment to ethical sourcing and lasting partnerships.
Visiting the Siguatepeque region—home to small-plot farmers the roaster has worked with since 2011—the team explored the coffee picking and processing stages that influence the quality of Crimson Cup’s award-winning beans. Through its Friend2Farmer® initiatives, Crimson Cup supports farmers via direct trade, sustainability programs, and local development investments.
Alongside their farm visits, the team collaborated with Serve Hope International, helping build a home for a local family. This hands-on work reflects the company’s dedication not only to coffee quality but also to uplifting the communities behind the beans.
“More than coffee, this trip was about connection and community,” said Dave Eldridge, green coffee buyer. “Experiencing farmers’ daily work and challenges firsthand helps us better represent their efforts.”
Since 2011, Crimson Cup’s projects in Siguatepeque have included raised drying beds, safe housing, clean water solutions, and educational support. The company also sponsors service-learning trips to deepen understanding of smallholder coffee farming.
Founder and President Greg Ubert emphasizes, “We create positive change through our products and relationships worldwide, inspiring customers to make a meaningful impact with every cup we pour.”
