Wes Anderson is known for his unique and instantly recognizable style. Whether he uses stop-motion animation or real actors, you can tell it’s his work just by looking at the colors and the way scenes are framed. His newest movie, The Phoenician Scheme, continues this tradition. The film follows Zsa-Zsa Korda, a rich business tycoon who leaves his fortune to his daughter, who is a nun. The cast is mostly new, with the exception of Willem Dafoe and a few familiar faces.
The movie was filmed around Berlin. Like many film sets, coffee was essential for keeping everyone energized. Berlin is famous for its great coffee, and the production chose Five Elephant, a local coffee roaster, to supply their coffee needs. This partnership grew beyond just coffee for the set.
Five Elephant now offers The Official Air Korda Coffee Travel Set, inspired by the film.
This wasn’t the first time Wes Anderson and Five Elephant’s team crossed paths. Kris Schackman, Five Elephant’s co-founder, used to work in film as a Location Manager in New York City. Back then, he helped find spots for Anderson’s famous movie The Royal Tenenbaums.
Twenty-five years later, a Five Elephant team member’s fiancé got involved with the latest Anderson movie and suggested Five Elephant as the coffee provider. With a vintage 1960s trailer and a top-of-the-line espresso machine, Five Elephant has been serving espresso every day during filming for the cast and crew.
