A new independent café, Platform 13, has officially opened its doors at 13 Shaw Hall Bank Road, taking over the space formerly home to Station Brew. This cozy coffee and lunch spot offers seating for 24 guests and aims to become a local favorite.
Since March, the owners have been teasing the opening through a series of Facebook posts, building anticipation in the community. When Platform 13 welcomed its first customers on Wednesday, May 28, they posted a heartfelt thank-you message:
“A HUGE thank you to everyone who called in to visit us today. We absolutely loved meeting you all and welcoming you to our little coffee shop. We also thank you so much for your patience, even when we had no electricity!”
The response from locals and neighboring businesses has been overwhelmingly positive. Tracy Kelly shared her experience, saying, “We have just had a fantastic brunch at Platform 13 before our son boarded his train at Greenfield station to go back to university. The welcoming team, ambiance and delicious food were a lovely way to end his short stay at home. Thank you.”
Julie Clarke posted a picture of her sandwich with a glowing review: “Called today for the first time, and after this beauty, it won’t be out last.”
Katherine Fallows added, “Called in today, food is fantastic (small breakfast, absolutely perfect), lovely coffee.”
Platform 13’s menu features a wide range of coffee options, including cappuccinos and affogatos made with award-winning Darkwoods coffee. They also serve iced drinks, teas, smoothies, and soft drinks, catering to a variety of tastes.
With its warm atmosphere and community support, Platform 13 is set to become a new staple for locals and visitors alike in Greenfield.
