Baltimore-based Vagrant Coffee announced on Tuesday the closure of its last brick-and-mortar location in Federal Hill, marking a return to its roots as a mobile-only espresso bar.
Founder Josh Dew started Vagrant Coffee in 2017 after years of experience in the coffee industry and a passion for roasting. From the beginning, Dew’s mobile espresso cart — known as the “Espresso Bar” — became a popular choice for events and rentals across the city.
Over the years, Dew managed several cafés, including two Milk & Honey Market locations and Pigtown’s Cafe, but all eventually closed. Most recently, his last physical shop, 3 Bean Coffee at 209 Key Highway, which Dew took over in 2019, has also shut its doors.
Now, Vagrant Coffee will operate exclusively through its mobile espresso cart, focusing on specialty coffee and espresso drinks. The cart remains available for weddings, parties, corporate events, and other bookings, bringing quality coffee directly to customers.
