San Antonio’s coffee scene is getting a global infusion. Haraz Coffee, a fast-growing chain known for celebrating the heritage of Yemeni coffee, is planning to open a new location at 8435 Wurzbach Road, according to a recently submitted permit application.
The café will be situated near popular eateries including P. Terry’s Burger Stand, Torchy’s Tacos, and Via 313 Pizza, placing it in a busy corridor near the South Texas Medical Center.
While Haraz Coffee founder and CEO Hamzah Nasser was unavailable for comment, public records indicate that construction on the 1,770-square-foot space is expected to begin on July 1, with completion targeted for September 15. The project is being overseen by Purohit Architects Inc., based in Illinois.
Founded in 2021 in Dearborn, Michigan, Haraz Coffee has quickly gained recognition for its mission to bring Yemeni coffee traditions to a wider audience. Since launching, the company has expanded to 20 locations across metro Detroit and other cities, with over 140 additional cafes in development, according to its website.
An official opening date for the San Antonio location has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for updates as this international coffee brand makes its Texas debut.
