Dutch Bros Coffee, once a small coffee cart, has grown into a major competitor in the U.S. coffee market. Known for its drive-thru-only model, the company began in 1992 and started franchising in 2000.
Dutch Bros stood out from the beginning by offering a simpler, more convenient coffee experience compared to sit-down chains like Starbucks. Its focus on speed and drive-thru service helped it gain popularity, especially with younger customers looking for quick and fun options.
This back-to-basics approach has since been adopted by other rising brands, such as 7 Brew, but Dutch Bros was among the first to prove the model could succeed at scale.
After years of steady growth, the company hit a major milestone earlier this year, solidifying its place as a significant player in the competitive coffee industry.
